Boxycharm : January Box

Boxycharm : January Box

This month’s Boxycharm was an exciting one, in fact it may have been my favorite box yet! This month Boxycharm did something a little different and focused on only eye products. This is actually fabulous for me as those are usually my favorite products! Let’s get into it! BoxyCharm Brushes RoyalandLangnickelBrushSetThe first thing, or rather things, in the box were these three brushes from Royal and Langnickel. They were specially boxed as a set for Boxycharm but are on their website individually. The brushes included in the set are BX-90 Crease, BX-95 Smudger, and BX-80 Detail. I have given these brushes a try and I have to say- they are top notch! The handles have a nice weight to them and the bristles seem to be firmly in the ferrule. I really go for value for money on brushes and for $7.99 I think these are definitely worth the price. StarlooksThe next item in the box was the Starlooks Luxe Longwear Eye Liner Pen in black. I am extremely picky about my eyeliner so I’ll admit I had very low expectations with this one. It did not swatch well on first opening it so I was almost ready to give up but I decided to give it the old college try. I was wrong! I wore this liner today and it still looks great 15 hours on! It creates a solid line and dries quickly. The tip of the pen was great for creating that perfect wing! The one big weakness of this liner is that it doesn’t work well over cream shadow. It is $19 so I’m not sure if it is worth it over items like the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner that go for a similar price. That being said? I’m a big fan and I’ll definitely be incorporating it into my daily routine! Blinc Mascara AmplifiedThis might be the least exciting item in the box, but all the other items were top notch this month so that isn’t saying much. I will admit that I struggle with finding a mascara that works well with my eyelashes. Maybe a mascara expert could have gotten better results. I think this mascara did a good job of separating my lashes but it did not do much to volumize and it may have actually straightened my lashes out! I would say, for $26, this is the item in the box to pass on.Coastal Scents Revealed SmokyCoastal Scents Revealed Smoky SwatchesThe last item, and the real showstopper of this box was the Coastal Scents Revealed Smoky palette.  As someone who has been a Boxycharm subscriber for over a year I have gotten all of the Coastal Scents Revealed palettes. I would say that this palette competes with the Revealed one for the most commonly wearable colors. The quality of the shadows is great and I find they are more blendable than some of the earlier palettes. I definitely think they have been improving their formula. This is a $40 palette so your box is definitely worth the price – $21. (Also, as of writing this post this palette, is on sale for only $20! I’d definitely advise you to snap it up now if you are planning on trying it out!)

I hope this review has been helpful for you! I know I love hearing about subscription boxes so make sure to leave a comment below with your favorite subscription box! If you get Boxycharm what was your favorite product this month?

I’ve been using just this palette all week and loving it! With it on sale right now it’s a definite must buy!

I am very tempted to pick up this palette – the only thing that really irks me is that is is /always/ on sale. Like – I’ve never seen it not on sale. Either way – for $21 you can’t go wrong with that kind of pigmentation!

I have noticed that as well! I am curious about Coastal Scents strategy with that? I remember seeing the first few *off* sale a time or two but they have all been part of a BoxyCharm over the past year so I haven’t purchased one individually. I agree though, for $21 I am not complaining!
