My First Time| LUSH for First Time Shoppers

LUSH

If you spend time reading blogs regularly it is inevitable that you will hear about LUSH. I had seen posts about LUSH for years but I had, for some reason, thought that their products were unavailable in the U.S. as LUSH is based in the U.K. Over the summer I found out that I had been mistaken and I set out to get my hands on some. I wasn’t living in a metropolitan area at the time so it took me a bit to get into a store. I will be completely honest, when I first walked into a LUSH store I was overwhelmed! I started sneezing, picked up every item in the store, and left without a single purchase.

There are so many options that for a newbie like me, it was too much. I repeated this exercise about three times and had almost given up. However, my dear mother came to the rescue and saved the day! She got me three bath bombs for Christmas which helped me gather up the courage to stop by after the holiday! Although I would not recommend going within 40 feet of a LUSH store during the holiday rush, I did get some great things that I have really enjoyed testing out! If you are an avid reader of my blog you might think that you’ve seen a post about LUSH products before, and you would be correct. I did review the Ahoy There! gift set recently, however, I got all of these products first and I wanted to try them out before I posted a review! To avoid this post being catastrophically long – let’s get into it!

Butterball

Lush Butterball This is actually the only product from this haul that I haven’t tried! It smells so amazing that I have decided to save it for a special occasion! The scent is a soft and relaxing vanilla and cocoa butter that I will fully admit I have left out in my bathroom because I want to keep smelling!

Sex Bomb

Lush Sex BombI will be honest with you – I am not a pink and purple kind of gal so I did not have extremely high hopes for this one. I was obviously wrong as it smells amazing and it looks gorgeous in the bath. The only downside is that everyone in my life seemed to be sketched out by the name, it’s  nothing sinister I promise and it did not have me feeling any type of way, except maybe relaxed after my long bath!

Dragon’s Egg

Lush Dragon egg Lush Dragon eggThis is a deceptively pretty bath bomb! The outside is plain but the inside is bursting with fizzy orange goodness! This bath bomb definitely fizzes as opposed to the smoother spread of some other bath bombs. It has a gorgeous citrus scent as well!

Intergalactic

Lush IntergalacticLush IntergalacticThis is the prettiest bath bomb of the bunch, hands down! When most people picture a bath bomb – this is it. It is supposed to be minty but to be honest I did not notice it being any more minty than the other bath bombs. This is on the more expensive side so it won’t be a regular purchase but I think it is great for a special occasion or a gift.

Twilight

lush twilightlush twilightTwilight is a nice middle ground. Pretty enough to Instagram, but less damage to your wallet. This makes for a very relaxing bath as it has a nice lavender scent. It starts out pink and it goes towards purple as it disperses.

Yuzu and Cocoa Bubbleroon

Yuzu and CocoaThis is not actually a bath bomb, rather a bubble bar. They are now calling it a bubbleroon, but it was called a bubble bar when I bought it so who knows what the truth is. The trick with this product, whatever it may be called, is to crumble it under running water as it is not a bath bomb and will do nothing if you just drop it into a full bath. Not that I made that mistake… This bubbler smells absolutely amazing! LUSH also makes a shower cream in this scent so if you love the smell but aren’t into baths you can still enjoy it.

So there you have it. A round-up of a variety of bath bombs so you don’t have to risk an allergy attack in-store. If you want to check out any of the products but couldn’t find a link, never fear! The photos in this post are clickable and will take you right to the product in question! I hope you found this post helpful! Have a great day!

I wonder why we were all out of the loop? Although I would have spent so much money there so maybe it was a blessing in disguise! I would definitely recommend Intergalactic! It is just so pretty! Unless it has an ingredient that doesn’t agree with you, it is a sure pick!

I am not big on bubble bars – but my mom has been loving The Comforter lately. I might have to try it out and see what the fuss is about! Thank you for the recommendation!

I love any bath bomb that will turn my bath water green (swamp water!), aka Avobath and Guardians of the Forest!

    • February 27, 2016 / 10:26 pm

As you might be able to tell I love green as well! I just picked up Avobath the other day! I didn’t realize Guardians of the Forest was also green but that will have to go next on the list now! Thanks for the tip!

Butterball is wonderful for the winter. Legit, it makes your skin so so soft after the bath. Only downside is that it takes some time to absorb, so it can make your feet a little slippery when you get out of the bath.

I will take that into consideration, thank you for the tip! Wouldn’t want any dramatic slips on the way out of the bath!
