Wanderlust is Living

Wanderlust is Living

I am headed off recently for a nice little vacation, and I know that with spring just starting to bloom many people are itching to get out of their winter rut and escape to a more fun locale. Whether you are taking a day trip to a nearby city orย  flying across the world, a change of scenery can do wonders. It gives you a chance to experience new places, cultures and activities which can inspire you in your daily life. No matter where your wanderlust takes you it always opens your eyes in some way.

Ever since I was a small girl I have dreamed of traveling the world. From the age of about 11 I answered the question “What do you want to do when you grow up?” with “Move to Italy and marry a duke.”My dad asked me this question again over the summer (two years into a college degree!) and I said my goal was to end up in Europe for at least a few years and he seemed startled. I was a bit confused as I’d been telling everyone who would listen my plans for the better part of a decade. His response was “I didn’t think you meant it, you were eleven.”ย  I’m not sure about the duke part anymore, I’d prefer a nice guy regardless of his title, but this answer, largely, still stands.

I want to live my life in a place that inspires me. Somewhere I wake up early every morning because I can’t wait to start my day. Somewhere with good food and better company.

I don’t know where that place will be yet. I have eliminated quite a few places, but I haven’t found one that feels right. I’m OK with that, I’m still young and I’m ready to go searching for that place.

Life is a journey, and I can’t think of a more appropriate way to spend it.

May your wanderlust lead you to unforgettable experiences.

All that is golf does not glitter.
Not all those who wander are lost.
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

I’m saving like crazy atm to fill my wanderlust dreams and head over to Europe! Hoping to also make it to New Zealand and to a couple places in America. The good thing is I can grab my Irish passport so I don’t need a visa to work over there! Which means I can stay there as long as I like and not have to travel all the way back to Australia for funds! The crazy part is I dunno when I want to go back to Australia I feel like I’d be happy living in Ireland for a while and discovering Europe and America haha

I didn’t mean for that to become a ramble! Haven’t actually told family or friends I want to go for that long woah wanderlust has hit me like a brick! haha

I am also trying to save at the moment! I have a similar feeling, once I start exploring I don’t think I’m likely to return! (Although an EU passport would definitely help me out!) Best of luck on all of your travels! May there be many!

Travelling is something I believe everyone should do at some point in their life, even if it’s only for 3 months (I personally like to travel for a year or so at a time, pretty much when my money runs out haha). When you travel solo, you are more open to trying new things and meeting so many more people. It’s great!

I would love to live in Europe but I would ensure I learn the language too! I’m currently learning French and hope to be fluent in it one day, so if I did move there at least I would know French even if it’s “English French” you would learn the rest while there!

i hope you finally find that one place that feels like home ๐Ÿ™‚
